ONE: ITCHY BITE MARKS
Since bed bugs are small and difficult to see, often we only notice something is amiss when we start to see red bites on us. If you wake up with bite marks on your skin that were not there before you went to bed, it’s very likely you have bed bugs.
Bed bug bites are flat, red welts and can appear all over the body, usually in clusters or . Bed bugs are opportunistic, usually feeding on exposed skin, while other bugs usually bite the ankles. These bites can often lead to a poor nights sleep, so take note of these.
TWO: MARKS ON YOUR BEDDING
Another common sign of a bed bug infestation are tiny blood spots – a result of their bites. These will be small, dark, rusty-looking marks that can usually be found on the corners of your bedding.
THREE: SHED BED BUG SKIN
Bed bugs also shed many times during mating. So, while inspecting your bed for marks, also make sure you look for bed bug skins. These will appeal oval and brown.
FOUR: MUSTY SMELL
Bed bugs are easy to identify by the distinctive scent they release. This can be particularly strong when there are a large number of them present. It should smell musty, like a wet towel.
FIVE: FINDING BUGS ON YOUR CLOTHES OR BED
